Regulating agency states that portable rides are inspected by state and an owner-hired 3rd party at every setup. Although regulations cover permanent rides as well, there are no permanent amusement parks in Hawaii.

Investigative Authority: 

State officials have authority to investigate serious accidents.

Reporting Criteria: 

Not specified in regulation, but regulating agency states that the following must be reported: damage to an amusement ride rendering it inoperable or physical injury requring treatment by physician. Accidents resulting in fatality or immediate hospitalization must be reported within 48 hours.
